Sinopec Lubricants Get Good Result in Inter-laboratory Comparison
[ 2010-07-20 ]
Sinopec Lubricants brought together 12 affiliated laboratories to attend the lubricant proficiency-testing program sponsored by the Netherlands-based Institute for Inter-laboratory Studies (IIS) in this March and received good results.

Ninety-eight acclaimed laboratories from 47 countries participated in this event by using the unused lubricants as comparison samples. There are 985 comparison indicators, of which, 825 are good or satisfactory and the satisfaction rate reached 83.8%.

Sinopec Lubricants had 17 items in this comparison, which covered 30 analysis methods. The company involved 136 indicators and 132 of them resulted in good or satisfactory data. The satisfaction rate touched 97.1% - better than the overall level.

The concerted efforts of Sinopec Lubricants made such good results possible. Since inception, Sinopec Lubricants has been consistently intensifying the laboratory management and improving the proficiency testing abilities – specifically the inter-laboratory comparisons to identify gaps. This strategy effectively improved the accuracy and reliability of laboratory data.

Under IIS guidance, all laboratories participating in the inter-laboratory comparison identified the gap between the State/industrial standards applied to the lubricant companies and ASTM standards thus taking domestic test methods to international levels. International community will accept laboratories which got good results in this international comparison and provide better services to global customers.
